What is erythritol?

Erythritol is a naturally-derived sugar substitute, commonly found in grapes, melons, mushrooms and fermented foods such as wine, beer, cheese and soy sauce in small amounts. It is produced by a fermentation process from plant sugars. It looks and tastes very much like sugar, yet has almost no calories.

No affect to blood sugar levels

Erythritol has not been found to affect blood sugar or insulin levels and has a very low glycemic index. It also isn’t metabolised by oral bacteria, which means that it doesn’t contribute to tooth decay. Erythritol has a clean, sweet taste and comes in granulated and powdered forms.
